Over the Moon for Pelican Grand's "Under the Moon" Dinners

Pelican Grand’s Evening Under the Moon Dinners
We go inside OCEAN2000’s unique dinner series that features a side of astronomy and astrology.

Dinner at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort’s restaurant OCEAN2000 is a little different during the monthly “Evening Under the Moon” specials. Sure, you’ll still get a delicious meal, but you’ll also get romantic oceanfront seating, access to telescopes to observe the month’s full moon, and even a visit from an astrologer.

The Dinner

The “Evening Under the Moon” dinner series occurs monthly on the day of the full moon (link for a list of 2018’s full moons). Diners get to select their meal from a special prix-fixe menu curated and created by OCEAN2000’s executive chef. Menus change each month because the chef focuses on what is in season, so if you enjoyed your “Evening Under the Moon” dinner one month, you could come back another month and have an entirely different set of choices. You’ll be seated outside on the veranda, romantically dining alfresco as the moonlight dances off the ocean.

A Side of Astronomy

The full moon will be impossible to miss from the comfort of your table, but you can get a closer look, too. The restaurant sets up oversized telescopes around the massive sweeping veranda, positioned just perfectly to help bring that big glowing orb, 239,000 miles away, a little closer.

Table Visits…from an Astrologer??

In between your courses, notable Florida astrologer and intuitive counselor Bea Kobran makes the rounds to give 10-minute personalized tarot card readings to each table. Perhaps she might just give you a little glimpse into what the dessert course holds.
